Sunrise of the Warrior
This piece like with many of my weavings is a amalgamation of technique and styles that are separated by 50 years. Like many 1st phase buckles Sunrise of the warrior with cold forged and stamped after an initial annealing. All the stamps are created just for this piece and are created out of mild steel. This is a limited run of 50 after the unnumbered original. The stamps will most likely only last half that amount as they have to be filed and polished after every piece. Just like early stamps, wide bevel and embossing stamps similar to worked leather chase the silver as if it was leather. A temporary raw imported belt can be used until a custom belt and be found. They style is reminiscent of classic 1950s lines and style.
Like many 1st phase buckles, this piece has no stone. In my family and the stories that have be told to me, turquoise and many everyday jewelry is not worn when a warrior is initiated. A prohibition against the stones and gems of tradition must not witness violence. Shiny metals are rubbed down with sand and given a matte finished to prevent glitz. Old teaching that enforce survival in both practical and mental sense and self.
